Artur Beterbiev vs Callum Smith live stream: How to watch online and on TV tonight

0

Callum Smith will challenge Artur Beterbiev for the unified light heavyweight titles tonight, five months after the boxers initially faced off.

Russia’s Beterbiev, who fights Canada, has a surprising record of 19-0 with 19 knockout wins. Most recently, the 38-year-old fought through adversity to stop Anthony Yarde and retain the WBC, WBO and IBF titles, although that was 12 months ago.

However, Smith can shake off his own ring rust, having last fought in August 2022 when he stopped Mathieu Bauderlique. The Liverpoolan enters Québec this weekend as an underdog but is a former world champion whose only defeat came in 2020 against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. So is Smith being underestimated here? The 33-year-old will look to prove that in Quebec City, where he finally gets his hands on Beterbiev, whose jaw infection caused their fight to be postponed last summer.

This week it was also revealed that Beterbiev returned an ‘atypical’ drug test result in December, but has since tested negative and is cleared to fight. A ‘negative’ finding might have proven more damaging to the likelihood of the fight going ahead.
