The Grand Jury of Manhattan investigation into former President Donald Trump over hush money payments returned Monday to hear more evidence, with still no word on when it could be asked to vote on a potential indictment.

The grand jury is now back on Trump, according to a person familiar with the case who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss classified proceedings. It was not immediately clear whether another witness could be called before the panel.

Trump ranted against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in a social media post Monday morning.

‘Could you imagine? I lead the opposition within the Republican Party with 30 plus, and Biden with 6 plus, and everyone is waiting for word from a George Soros-backed district attorney, who has seen violent crime in Manhattan rise to record highs, on whether or not he’s going to “criminalize me” for NO CRIME,” Trump added.

Trump raised expectations that criminal charges were imminent with a March 18 post on his social media platform saying he expected to be arrested last Tuesday. He has since used the lack of an indictment to claim, without presenting any evidence, that the investigation is somehow faltering.

The Republican former president has also escalated his rhetoric, warning that ‘potential death and destruction’ would accompany any charges. He also posted a photo of himself with a baseball bat next to a photo of District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat. On Thursday, Trump referred to Bragg, Manhattan’s first black prosecutor, as an “animal.”
