Grant Denyer shares very sweet health update on daughter Sunday
Grant Denyer has shared positive news about his youngest daughter.
Two-year-old Sunday was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in 2022 and was able to get rid of her hip brace after nine months.
A very proud dad shared a video on social media from Sunday running down the hallway in their home without braces.
“If the hip brace comes off after 13 months,” Denyer wrote.
Family and friends took to the comment section to share their excitement at the news.
“Glorious,” wrote TV news presenter Angela Bishop.
Another who has a relative with the same condition said they followed Sunday’s progress.
“Amazing. My daughter went through the same process. I’ve been following your daughter’s progress,” they wrote.
The news came just over a month after Denyer revealed that Sunday had started spinning in a sweet Instagram video.
The clip on Sunday shows him speeding around the house while wearing pink braces.
“This is huge! So proud of our beautiful little Sunday. She didn’t let her hip dysplasia stop her. It’s been 8 months of a full cast and now this one, she’s finally finding a way to get the mobility she’s always dreamed of. What every child needs and deserves,” Denyer wrote in February.
“She is so far behind on some milestones compared to others because of her dislocated hip, but then again she is thriving in a way you wouldn’t believe in so many other ways.
And she never complained or got frustrated about it. Her spirit is just extraordinary.”
Hip dysplasia occurs when the hip socket does not completely cover the ball of the top bone. It can cause the hip joint to become dislocated.
Hip dysplasia diagnosed early in life can be corrected and usually corrected completely with the use of braces.
