Dan Walker appears on TV after horror crash
Dan Walker discussed his horrific cycling accident during a TV interview after the incident when he appeared on Loose Women on Tuesday afternoon.
The 46-year-old announcer told how he is already back on his bike after the accident, despite the fact that he can no longer feel his lip and suffers from a lump on his hip.
The 5News presenter was left with a swollen and bloodied face and a black eye after being knocked off his bike at a roundabout on Feb. 20.
Dan previously said he was unconscious for “about 20 minutes” after the accident in Sheffield and could not remember anything about it.
He talked about how he feels now and told the panel, “I still can’t feel part of my lip and I have a lump on my hip, I may have to take this tooth out because of a blood supply problem but that I did’ I didn’t break any bones.

‘I got back on the bike 10 days ago, the first roundabout I had a bit of focus, but the way I look at it, I have to get out again, driving makes me a better cyclist and vice versa.’
The father-of-three recently posted a photo of him cycling outside St Pancras station in London, adding that there were ‘no flashbacks’.
He shared the photo of himself riding a new yellow Gocycle, a folding e-bike, with a new helmet – but complained that his orange socks didn’t match the frame.
Dan made a quick recovery from his horror crash and appeared on the Ultimate News Quiz to benefit Action for Children just over two weeks later.
Last month, he announced the terrifying ordeal on Instagram, where he shared snaps of his injuries.
At the time, he wrote, “Not quite the week I had planned, but I am on the mend. ‘I am very grateful for all your kind messages & for my family & dear friends. I am also grateful to the paramedics, the police and the people who took care of me in the ER.’
Footage from a vehicle before the accident shows Dan on his bicycle when the rear wheel hit the front wing of a car.
When the car crashed into him, the father-of-three was sent sprawling onto the tarmac, narrowly avoiding going under his wheels.

He later covered a photo of his scarred face during an appearance on Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine Show.
“I am very grateful that I have been cured,” he told the presenter. Basically, there’s been a few bumps and bumps and abrasions all over the place.
“I have a badly damaged hand. I don’t want to take my pants off, Jeremy, but I have a huge bruise on my right hip right now.’
Dan said he was “very grateful” to the paramedics, police and those caring for him at the hospital.
Elsewhere during the Loose Women interview, Dan discussed the Nicola Bulley documentary he’s working on.

Dan said, “There was so much interest in what happened to this poor person that it prompted a lot of people to reach out about their own relatives, someone goes missing every 90 seconds…
“Her family is so thankful they’re doing it to prevent other people from going through it, the fact that there’s no program like this on TV, it’s a live show…
“We try to do it responsibly, we talk to the police, we also have representatives from the missing persons charity on every show, we just look for facts for those families who just want to know…
“Everyone says they just want to know that everything is okay and that someone somewhere knows something and by putting their face on the TV someone could say they recognize them from the bus or crossing the street.
“We all have the right to go missing and that is part of the debate. The charity will often say that your relative is fine, but they don’t want to be found and at least they know.’
